FAQs
Questions about modelling that we hear most
Q: Is height important for modelling?
A: Depends on what kind of model you want to become: fashion model, catalogue model, commercial model, or trade show model. While height is not always a major factor, the preferred height for the younger market and women is 5'7" and up and for males, 5'10" and up. For the classic/mature market (mid 20s and older) the height is not so important. Other important factors are age, good proportions, excellent skin and teeth, personality, availability and most importantly – being photogenic. Having these traits will give you an opportunity for representation.
Q: Am I too old to model?
A: The Agency represents models and actors of all ages.
Q: Are you a casting agency?
A: No, we are a model and talent agency. For those that seek representation in the acting field, we will see experienced actors with good CVs, training and background in film or theatre (work as an extra does not constitute as experience). Most importantly, if anyone is a member or apprentice of UDA or ACTRA unions, we will be interested in meeting them.
Q: I have a child that I would like to start in modelling, what is the procedure?
A: For children aged 3 months and into their teens, we require that you send by mail only (not email) 5 snapshots (4 x 6 size) taken with your camera. Each photo should be labelled with the name of child, date of birth, home telephone and address in a self-addressed and stamped envelope. If we are interested, we will call the parents to schedule an appointment. If the child is not accepted, we will send the photos back only if you have submitted a self-addressed stamped envelope as requested.
Q: I am an adult who would like to model or act, what is the procedure?
A: For any adult that falls into the categories we seek, we have an open house every Thursday between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. It is preferable that actors bring photos and CVs and for models, please bring photos, portfolios, snapshots. These pictures will help us decide how photogenic you are, so bring good ones! If you do not have any photographic material, just come as you are. Due to last minute cancellations it is recommended that you call to inquire if we will be holding an open house in that particular week.
